- Cooling Fans
-
- The fan is usually
- mounted behind the
- radiator, and its
- function is to
- create a flow of
- air through the
- radiator, to help
- lower the
- temperature of the
- coolant fluid.
-
- The flow of air is
- not a problem when
- the car is at
- speed, since the
- force of the wind
- presses air through
- the radiator. At
- low speeds, or when
- the car is standing
- still, idling, a
- fan is necessary to
- create motion in
- the air, or else
- the car could
- overheat.
